We’re finishing off this week with Matthew Peak’s newest print for Cameron Crowe’s cult classic, Almost Famous, and the most interesting mashup of classic art and modern branding with Nina Matsumoto’s Peanut Devours His Son.
Matthew’s print for Almost Famous is a cleverly crafted collage of moments from the film, all combined under the unifying imagery of a rock concert. Matthew’s imagery features a musical fluidity that ties in perfectly with the movie!
Nina’s piece, based on Francisco Goya’s ubiquitous and immense “Saturn Devouring His Son” painting, is the strangest and most intriguing evolution of meme culture, pop culture, and company mascots. Baby Nut bust onto the scene during last week’s Super Bowl, and Nina’s piece brilliantly and darkly adds commentary to the whole situation!
Matthew and Nina’s prints will be available Friday (2/7) @ 12PM ET on our homepage, Bottleneckgallery.com!
