Today we will be releasing, Civilization, the variant to David Welker's Widespead Panic gig poster.
Originally the print for the Red Rocks show in June was part of an amazing collaboration between David, EMEK and Marq Spusta.
"It was a real honor to work with two of my favorite artists in the poster scene Emek Artman and Marq Sxpusxta, for this weekends Red Rocks Widespread Panic shows. We were proposed the concept of illustrating the bands long journey as a sort of reflection on civilization itself. So from its origins or genesis to the height of civilizations precarious balancing act, to one possible apocalypse or skeletal remnants of an epic storyline, we each put our perspectives to the task of representing the amazing journey of this great band. I had the lucky timing to be able to start my design first and to that I want to give another nod to the amazing street art phenomenon "Phlegm" and his depiction of "Civilization" for which I took a fair dose of inspiration. Emek and Marq then with their usual fiendish intensity took the concept to a whole other level. I loved being a part of this. It is without a doubt a collaboration that I will always be grateful for. "
The 16 x 24 inch screen print is signed and numbered out of an edition of 200 and will cost $70 each.
