This Wednesday, we’re getting weird with Mark Englert and his latest gig poster, and AJ Masthay tackles the legendary Lockn’ Festival again!
Mark’s latest foray into gig posters is easily the weirdest release of the year, but in a good way! Weird Al’s current Strings Attached tour features a wildly ambitious, accordion-filled show that’s had a stellar lineup of artists contributing posters for each show, and Mark’s take on a tabloid cover is completely inline with Weird Al’s wonderful personality and music.
The Lock’n Festival is a yearly music fest dedicated mostly to jam bands, and 2019 marks the third year in a row that AJ’s created gig posters for the event! AJ says the following, “Honored to be asked for the third year in a row to create the official poster for the 2019 Lockn’ Festival! They always pride themselves on epic musical collaborations and guest sit-ins and this year did not disappoint, Trey with Khruangbin was simply dreamy, Derek Trucks with TAB will go down in infamy and the Bob Weir “sit in” with JRAD had me laughing my ass off! The festival promoters asked that I bring a bit of my recent Seasons flavor to this years piece giving it a bit more of a psychedelia nod.”
