We’re finishing up the week with an action-packed trio of releases from Dave Merrell, Sam Mayle, and George Bletsis!
Dave’s donning his best pair of booty-kicking sandals for his newest alternative movie poster for Kung Fu Hustle. Stephen Chow’s 2004 action comedy is the perfect blend of martial arts showcase and Looney Tunes-esque comedy–it’s a real treat. Dave’s poster is an awesome ode to the stacked cast of characters (The Beast!) with nods to some of the inspired locations where the action takes place throughout the film.
Sam and George are back after barreling through cursed timelines with posters for animation legend Genndy Tartakovsky’s Samurai Jack. Both Sam and George’s prints feature the titular hero, Jack, and the supremely villainous Aku. Sam’s print is an all-out, epic battle between the two, while George’s print is a more somber showdown. Each print captures a different aspect of the show, and both prints offer awesome interpretations of a modern, animated classic.
