Jim Henson and Frank Oz’ The Dark Crystal is a staple of 80s puppet-driven movies. The film was dark in tone--much darker than it was initially marketed as--and featured a fantastical story, filled with spectacular puppetry, memorable character designs, and great set pieces. This week, we’ll be taking the journey to the planet Thra and releasing two stunning, officially licensed Dark Crystal prints from Dan May and Dave Perillo!
Dan May, whose paintings filled with wild and whimsical creatures have been on our radar for some time, makes his Bottleneck Gallery debut with his Dark Crystal print. Dan’s piece shows a serene scene between Jen and his Mystic master, as Jen is told what his dangerous quest will be. The details Dan includes in the two creature characters is phenomenal!
Dave Perillo’s Dark Crystal print, "When Single Shines the Triple Sun," is a more light-hearted piece, featuring so many of our favorite characters from the film, including the ferocious furball, Fizzgig!
Both Dan and Dave’s prints will be available for purchase Tuesday (6/20) @ 12PM ET on our homepage, Bottleneckgallery.com!
