This Thursday, we venture to Middle Earth again with our guide, Phantom City Creative, but this time, we’re joined by fellow adventurer Chris Valentine!
PCC have been exploring The Lord of the Rings films through a series of screen prints that delve into the rich characters, iconography, and themes of the movies. With their newest print, PCC commemorate one of, if not the most, iconic scenes from The Fellowship of the Ring–Gandalf vs. the Balrog. Using some vivid and masterful lighting work, PCC have created a powerful print that showcases one of our favorite moments from the films. Also, the frame around the image is an exquisite touch that we’re particularly fond of.
Chris’s set of portraits showcase three fierce warriors from the gang in all of their glory. Stoic, solemn, and handsome, Chris’s highly detailed portraits capture the characters and their overall demeanor perfectly. Chris’s pop culture paintings are always a treat, and we’re happy to have him painting members of the Fellowship of the Ring.
