This Friday, it’s the Return of the Jedi with a true Jedi, Drew Struzan.
Drew’s movie posters are some of the most influential movie posters of all time. Drew’s uncanny ability to capture likeness while still maintaining a fresh and unique style is unparalleled, and his posters have amazed us for decades.
As many of you know, a few weeks after our Star Wars Special Edition release, Drew sadly passed away. He was an extraordinary human and artist and we feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with him for over a decade. We remain committed to honoring his legacy by continuing our relationship with his estate, which will also help support his wife, Dylan.
Drew’s poster for Return of the Jedi sees Darth Vader and his duel with Luke as its focal point. Using a looser style and a more pointillistic approach with some stippling, Drew’s image is the perfect encapsulation of Luke and Darth’s epic clash and remains one of our favorite movie posters of all time.
