What do Marvel’s X-Men and DC’s Batman have in common? They’ve both got extraordinary cartoon series that stand the test of time and continue to inspire creatives to this day. So, this Thursday, we’re celebrating Marvel’s X-Men ‘97 and DC’s Batman: The Animated Series with new prints! Additionally, Raid71 pays tribute to an iconic pulp hero with his newest print for The Rocketeer!
Juan Ramos returns to fight more Sentinel scum with his newest print dedicated to the juggernaut animated series, X-Men ‘97. As a follow-up to Juan’s wildly beloved X-Men: The Animated Series print from a few years back, we enlisted Juan and his mutant art abilities to draw up an x-tremely cool and bombastic print that shows our X-Men doing what they do best, fighting to save themselves, mankind, and the future (often).
Tom Walker’s print for Batman: The Animated Series features Batman with so much of his TAS rogues’ gallery wrapped up in his legendary cape. Tom’s print focuses on what made the series special, the art deco design philosophy combined with brilliant character design. With a new Bruce Timm animated Batman cartoon on the way, we wanted to pay homage to the classic!
Appearing in comics in the early 1980s, The Rocketeer brought a flying everyman (without powers!) pulp hero to comics. Raid’s Rocketeer print captures the story’s more pulpy tone and aesthetic to a tee and encapsulates the excitement of seeing stunt pilot Cliff Secord’s visually stunning outfit woosh through breathtaking panels and pages!
